Hi Everyone: First snow here of size in 2015 just in time for Christmas, I recommend removing all the snow from the driveway while its cold in the morning on these slushy days. Later it will not move as easily and be tough to deal with. After the driveway, to reveal the lights, I would go ahead and remove snow from the entire yard using a snowblower, down to the grass. In the day its not so picturesque but in the evening, perfection!
Also avoid sandals at this time outdoors, particularly open toe with socks, the wet socks will discolor your coordinated outfit, and possibly leach the sandal dye onto your foot leaving unseemly darker blotches which could be confused with bruising or even hematoma. finally, too long in the snow with wet socks in open toed sandals (like a brisk morning snow walk) may lead to dangerous hyperthermia and real blackened toes ala Everest.
